Laurelview Christian Camp
Laurelview Christian Camp is provided by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pennsylvania as a place where individuals may develop their relationship with God, one another, and grow in their understanding of the Christian faith. We want all who come to enjoy camp life at this facility, and for their lives to be enriched by their experiences while there. This center is provided by the congregations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pennsylvania. The land, buildings, furnishings, and equipment represent a significant investment by our church members.
It is our intention that this center will be used to fulfill the objective of Christian Education which we have adopted:
"Our objective of Christian Education is that all persons be aware of God through his self-disclosure, especially his redeeming love as revealed in Jesus Christ, and that they respond to him in faith and love -- to the end that they may know who they are, what their human situation means, grow as persons rooted in the Christian Community, life in the Spirit of God in every relationship, fulfill their common discipleship in the world, and abide in the Christian hope."
Reservations are required to use the Laurelview facilities, and are scheduled in order of priority:
- Programs and groups of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pennsylvania and the Districts of the Region.
- Congregations and their recognized program, planning, and fellowship groups.
- Non-Disciples and other groups.
Laurelview Christian Camp continually draws campers and visitors to its mountain playground in Somerset County, boasting panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It's an excellent portraiture of God's creative genius.
Laurelview is located at 384 Middlecreek Rd., Rockwood, PA 15557. Phone #814-926-3004. View directions here
A Letter to You
By Paige Landi
Dear Friend,
I am a camper that goes to Laurelview Christian Camp and I will tell you that it is a great place to be, and I'll prove it. The first thing is that you are truly walking on holy ground and everytime you go there something wonderful happens. Another reason is that you get to meet and see old friends. So if you are convinced, come and see it for yourself or sign up to come. Remember, you're among friends. Don't be shy!
